eBay fakesellers

eBay sellers who have been shown to sell fake ancient coins.  Revised May 6, /2012.
For regular consideration of active eBay coin listings, join the Coin Forgery Discussion List.
Of course, eBay does not retain auction photos for long, so the evidence is mostly in contemporary discussions on the CFDL.
Many particular fakes have been recorded on http://forgerynetwork.com/   Search for any particular type to see if a suspect coin is identical to a recorded fake.
Names of dealers ousted from eBay have not been removed. Those sellers often return under a different name.
Some of these sellers also sell large numbers of genuine coins, but a bit too often slip up and sell fakes (often of more-expensive types than their other coins). Given the large number of honest sellers, it is recommended you avoid sellers who sell fakes, even if a coin seems okay.
Even the major honest dealers can make a mistake and offer a fake, but their mistakes are rare. This list is limited to dealers who have made too many mistakes to trust (and a number of outright criminals).
